Boedecker Cellars Stewart, 2014 Willamette Valley Pinot noir 92 James Suckling, 91+ The Wine Advocate
92 James Suckling
This pinot noir shows aromas of raspberries, cherries and hints of lemon. Licorice undertones, too. Medium to full body, round and ripe tannins and a medium finish. Fruity style. Drink now. Screw cap
91+ The Wine Advocate
Pale to medium ruby-colored with a hint of purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir Stewart gives cranberry and sour cherry notes on the nose with underlying underbrush, garrigue, dried herbs and damp soil hints. Medium-bodied with a taut, muscular palate of expressive red fruit and earth flavors, it has a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with great length and depth.
Lurid ruby. Ripe cherry and Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors and sweetening hints of cola and vanilla. In a chewy, nicely concentrated style, showing very good clarity and dusty tannins on the persistent, spice-laced finish.
